Privacy policy

Last updated 16 October 2026

Mintern helps founders plan and post to social media. This page explains what we keep about you, why, who helps us run the service, and what you can ask us to do with it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@mintern.app.

Who we are

Mintern (mintern.app) is run by its founder in the United Kingdom. For UK GDPR, we are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: hello@mintern.app.

What we store

We don't sell your data, show you ads, or use your data to train AI models.

Why we use it (our lawful basis)

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of trusted services. Each only gets what it needs to do its job.

Data outside the UK

Some of these services store or process data outside the UK, including in Japan and the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards the law allows, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your account, connected accounts, posts and results within 30 days, apart from anything we must keep by law. Backups held by our providers roll off on their own schedule. Disconnecting a social account deletes its stored password or token straight away.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:

Email hello@mintern.app from the address you sign in with and we'll reply within one month. It's free.

Deleting your account

You can disconnect any social account from Set-up in the dashboard at any time. To delete your whole Mintern account, email hello@mintern.app from the address you sign in with and we'll delete it and confirm by email. Clearing your browser's site data removes the chat history kept there.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser stores your sign-in session and recent chat so the dashboard works. The sign-in page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and email you before it takes effect.
